The Addiction of WoW

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 12, 2008, 11:20 AM
I have to admit, even if I don't want to, I have been addicted to World of Warcraft (WoW) as of late. Which, unfortunately, means I have had no imagination for quite some time. No photo updates, no crappy art updates, nothing. I am lacking.

Thank You Ethanol

Fuck the Polar Bears.

I'd like to preface this rant by informing you that I do in fact love Polar Bears. Nonetheless, fuck the Polar Bears...

Corn is now being turned into ethanol, which is good right? We're told that our gasoline is polluting the environment and in turn is slowly killing us. So, we have chosen to begin making ethanol - E85, if you like - in order to combat this issue. There is a big problem with this train of thought, however. America is run on corn. Our energy, our fuel (food-wise), and everything in between. If not for corn most of our sweets and treats and candies and all of that stuff would not even exist int he same form that they do now. There would be no soda, fruit juice would have to be -OMG!!- 100% fruit juice, and our meat wouldn't be as excessive as it is.

Livestock eat corn. In one way or another, they all eat or benefit from it. Well, when the price of corn goes up, the price to feed the livestock grows. So, in essence, the cost of your chicken fillet will increase. However, your gasoline will be cheaper... if you buy E85. How many ethanol stations have you seen as of late? Right.

It's worth it, right? We're saving the Earth and in turn saving ourselves from a fiery doom... yeah? Well, there lies the issue. We may be saving Earth - though, few people use E85 and most people consider it to be a miserable failure - but we're killing ourselves in the process. "But how, Mr. Zweiteskind, are we killing ourselves?" Good question, Billy. We're killing ourselves because farmers have torn form the grow other crops in order to grow more corn since the demand is high. Unfortunately, that mean things such as wheat, rice, and other staples I can't think of at the moment are now skyrocketing in price. Remember, supply and demand. Whether we like it or not, we're in a Capitalist world.

So, I have a request for all of your people who complain about gas: STOP IT. Gas prices are high, but guess what? So is everything else. If we would have never bothered screwing around with our crops and forcing farmers into growing more corn than usual we wouldn't have to pay as much in grocery stores. Not to mention all of those starving brown people in other countries, you know the ones we can't pronounce the name to, are mostly starving because all of the food we once gave them is no longer being brought.

Thank you Al Gore, you fucked us all. Remember folks, DON'T VOTE IN '08! There's no reason. Choosing between a Socialist who wants you to pay 90% of your paycheck in taxes and an idiot who was once a great man but is now simply the old white fellow who won't do anything good is not a way to vote.
